Hi Everyone!!
Its been very long time since I have blogged. Quite long vacation after tight schedule pushed me back on writing article on the blog. I tried my best to answer the queries of the users meanwhile with few day delay in response time.
Before I move on I wish you all a happy year 2011. Quite late though.
Back to track, One of the user asked the question 'can INST_TOP reside on NAS storage.?'
Well, Try to keep away INST_TOP from NAS storage for better performance.
You would see Apache crashes(most likely) or High Load issue (server level) if you keep INST_TOP in Shared disks. At minimum you would need to keep pid/logs directories in local disk.
In $CONTEXT_FILE make sure below variables pointing to local disk.
s_lock_pid_dir
s_pids_dir
s_web_pid_file
Run autoconfig or make the equivalent change in $INST_TOP/logs, $INST_TOP/pid
Happy Sharing. Smile and keep reading the rest of the articles.
