Hi Everyone
Yesterday I wrote about the timezone change steps on Oracle Compute Classic instance. Today I am putting the steps for Exadata Cloud Service cluster timezone change.
This involves little more steps that what we did on Classic compute instance. This requires downtime of instance running on the node.
Stop CRS on node1
As a root user
crsctl stop crs
[root@lpcldv0244m ~]# cat /etc/sysconfig/clock
ZONE="UTC"
UTC=true
ARC=false
[root@lpcldv0244m ~]# cp -p /etc/sysconfig/clock /etc/sysconfig/clock.01192018
[root@lpcldv0244m ~]# vi /etc/sysconfig/clock
[root@lpcldv0244m ~]# cat /etc/sysconfig/clock
ZONE="America/Phoenix"
UTC=true
ARC=false
[root@lpcldv0244m ~]#
[root@lpcldv0244m ~]# date

[root@lpcldv0244m ~]# ln -sf /usr/share/zoneinfo/America/Phoenix /etc/localtime
[root@lpcldv0244m ~]# date

[root@lpcldv0244m ~]#
[root@lpcldv0244m ~]# cp /opt/oracle.cellos/cell.conf /opt/oracle.cellos/cell.conf.01192018

to
America/Phoenix
[root@lpcldv0244m ~]# grep Timezone /opt/oracle.cellos/cell.conf
America/Phoenix
[root@lpcldv0244m ~]#
[root@lpcldv0244m ~]# cd /u01/app/12.2.0.1/grid/crs/install
[root@lpcldv0244m install]#cp s_crsconfig_lpcldv0244m_env.txt s_crsconfig_lpcldv0244m_env.txt.01192018
Change Timezone
[root@lpcldv0244m install]# grep TZ= s_crsconfig_lpcldv0244m_env.txt
# the appropriate time zone name. For example, TZ=America/New_York
TZ=US/Arizona
[root@lpcldv0244m install]#
Start CRS stack now
crsctl start crs
Once your Databases come up, start your apptier nodes.
Happy Learning!!
