In my last post, I have covered Demantra 7.2- R12 ebiz suite integration overview.
You may would like to review my earlier post Demantra - R12 integration overview.
System Requirement Analysis:
You can verify the requirement of Client, Server, network requirements for installing Demantra 7.2 can be found at 468679.1.
The configuration I have done is represented as "Stack ST" in the above metalink note.
Ebiz R12.0.3:
I Assume that You have R12 instance installed/upgraded and you are at 12.0.3 Patchset level. I had the apps system in Oracle Enterprise Linux 3.0
Run the below sql as apps user,
SQL> select RELEASE_NAME from fnd_product_groups;
RELEASE_NAME
--------------------------------------------------
12.0.3
If you have plan to install R12 freshly you may review the earlier R12 installation post. Apply R12 RUP3 (6141000) on top of R12. Prerequisite and other steps can be found for upgrading the apps system from R12 to R12.0.3 at the note 445192.1.
Apply 7.2 Demantra - 12.0.3 EBS Integration Patch - 6606568
Your Apps System is now ready for integrating with Demantra.
What you need to know is
1) System Password
2) DB SID
3) DB listener port
4) Tablespace where you want to have Demantra data
5) Tablespace where you want to have Demantra indexes
Data | Parameters |

Client Oracle Home:
I have Installed Oracle Client Home 10g as my ebiz DB was 10g. Make sure to have both client and oracle home are at same major version level even if its not at same patch set level.
Once I have installed client oracle home 10g, Added the tns entry of ebiz suite to client$ORACLE_HOME/network/admin/tnsnames.ora and verify sqlplus system/systempassword@ebizsid
Demantra7.2 Installation:
Demantra 7.2 Install Patch - 6617634, download and unzip. you will see setup.exe
double click on setup.exe
1) Select Demantra Spectrum
2) click next3) select complete installation
4) select spectrum group, I have selected already existing group, As i have reinstalled for demonstration purposes
5) Select DB type Oracle
6) Client Oracle Home Location
since my windows 2000 Service Pack 4 box had two client oracle home's installed, it is showing both 9i/10g client Oracle Homes.
select 10g as R12.0.3 comes with 10g DB. Otherwise installer will give warning.
7) Feed schema Name - DMTRA_TEMPLATE and password
8) Feed System password
9) Installer verifies the connection
10) select application type
11) Select the Tablespaces
12) Select the URL
13) Plug-in version
14) Admin account, I have selected designate later
15) I didn't select anything
16) installation starts here
17) Installation progresses and completes
Now the installation of Demantra completed. You need to configuration of demantra and you need to deploy the war file in 10.1.3 AS j2ee instance. Stay Tuned for the next update on this journey of integration of demantra with Apps R12.0.3

Hi Suresh,
I saw your posts in the blogspot about Demantra installation. Very good post. I am in the process of installing one and I have some trouble in deploying the war file in the same 10gAS as R12. Is that possible? I would imagine that it should be possible. The challenge I have is that I am not seeing the application server through the EM console. The command line to deploy the war also results in some errors. I was hoping you would know why the EM is showing the application server.
Also, after deploying the war file, will be able to access the application through a URL that can be set in a profile option?
I would appreciate if you can please respond to this email with your comments.

Good to see your comment. I am yet to complete the integration posts with Ebiz R12.
you can't deploy the war in R12 ebiz 10.1.3 - Definitely no - In my demantra overview post I have mentioned you need to have one more 10.1.3 AS installation.(which is no where with R12 10.1.3), in my case I have done in windows box.
10.1.3 EM is disabled in R12 - details how it is disabled will be posted little later in my blog.
I hope I have clarified your question. If not, next post is going to be on deployment part of war. You will be able to find the answer.
Thank you.

Suresh,
Please answermy question for this screen shot "8) Feed System password". Which database 'system' user is going against? What is 'scmtqa4'? Is it ERP/11iPlanning instance? or a seperate instance?
Thanks,
Gopal
Gopal,
yes, its a 11i instance.
Thanks
Suresh
Suresh,
Thanks for the reply. Appreciate it.
We are install/implement Demantra. I am following metalink note 434991.1. I am given a RedHAt box with this kernel version 2.6.9-55.0.0.0.2.EL. I have completed step1 which is to install 10.1.4. I am going to install 10.1.3 as my next step , then Demantra (Linux based) on a windows server, then deploy demantra.war (here i am following 428854.1).
Those are the steps in crisp. Ofcourse, there are some 11i integration steps required like applying patches, etc).
Here I would like to mention our topology that integrates ERP, Planning, and Configurator.
We have 3 oracle 11i instances that got integrated.
1. PROD - ERP instance (Multi node)
2. PAPS - Planning instance (Single node)
3. CFG1 - Configurator instance (Single node)
All three are work with help of 'Database Links'.
I have couple of questions. Please find time to answer.
While installing Demantra 7.1.1 installer asks for database. Which database should it be? Is it Planning 11i instance that I mentioed above OR is it an independent database?
Please give a reply.
Gopal
Hi Gopal,
Its
1. PROD - ERP instance (Multi node)
in your case.
Thank you.

Suresh
Suresh,
Thanks for the response.
But the note 434991.1 mentions that 'If Dentralized' then use APS 11i instance. Which I think would be a planning instance? Please answer.
As well, why would Demantra needs 10.1.4 infrasture instance. I instanlled as step? where would Demantra uses 10.1.4.
Thanks,
Gopal

Gopal,
reviewed the sentence in the metalink note. Its 11i instance.
10.1.4 AS infra installation is to have authentication enabled by SSO.
Not sure your 11i is authenticated using SSO.
Thanks
Sruesh
Is there really no way of installing demantra.war into the 10.1.3 Oracle Home of any 11i or R12 instance ?
It's kind of stupid to install an AS server, to use Demantra application only.
What about APEX : can you deploy a WAR file into this application ?
Hi Anonymous,
Is there really no way of installing demantra.war into the 10.1.3 Oracle Home of any 11i or R12 instance ?
>no way with 11i - it does not use oc4j!! it uses 9i AS techstack Jserv. Though the installation doc says yes, it can be with R12 I have found no option to do. no relevant metalink notes either. May be you have to ask oracle support how to do with in R12 instance. That may screw up entire R12 configuration as R12 is customized OC4J for EBIZ.
It's kind of stupid to install an AS server, to use Demantra application only.
> If you have different AS j2ee instances you can do in that after creating one more OC4J.
What about APEX : can you deploy a WAR file into this application ?
You can deploy to any of the OC4J instances if you have!!
Please mention your name while giving comment to address you.
Thank you.
Thanks

Hi Suresh,
Very good and informative blog.I am about to install Demantra 7.3 on a Windows Box and would be integrating this with R12 (12.1.1) which is installed on RHEL. I have 11G DB Client installed on Windows and 10.1.3.1 J2EE and Webserver installation on RHEL.Is it necessary to apply Demantra 7.3 integration patch first to R12 (12.1.1) and then install Demantra 7.3 or we can go ahead with the installation and then apply integration patch to EBiz? Please confirm if you are aware of any dependency or sequence to be followed for the installation. This is very urgent. Appreciate if you can reply soon.
Thanks & Regards,
Sandeep
One more question, do I need to create 8 tablespaces in advance of Demantra 7.3 Installation or the installer creates the tablespace during installation?
Regards,
Sandeep
Hi Sandeep,
Thanks for the comment. Please install the demantra patch first and go for installation. I do not see any dependency though, I have done it that way, which was successful.
Thanks
Suresh
Hi Sandeep,
Ideally you will be making use of already existing tablespace. APPS_TS_TX_DATA,APPS_TS_TX_IDX.
No need to create new.
Thanks
Suresh
Thanks dear.
Hello Suresh,
We are implementing Demantra 3.71 on a client, and we have to do SSO with Microsoft Active Directory. Do you have any suggestions or help on how I could do this integration?
This customer does not have EBS!
Thanks
Fabio Guidotti
Hi Fabio Guidotti,
I guess you would be able to do.
You might need to create demantra <--> OAS <--> Active Directory
please create SR and get clear picture.
Suresh
Hi Suresh,
I have installed demantra demand planning. However when i click worksheets i get error:worksheet data can't be shown. Please contact a administrator to review system log files for details.
Thank You
Madhav
Madhav,
With the information that you have provided i wouldn't be able to even guess the cause of the issue. please create oracle SR and provide them the logs. they will give you the guidance on that.
Thanks
Suresh
